Concert Videos

So recently Arcade Fire announced a full blown, 27 stop arena concert tour. I've been waiting to see them for the last 3 or 4 years and now I finally have my chance.  The thing is, I feel like I've seen them a hundred times already.  Arcade Fire has more full live concert videos on Youtube than any other band I follow. This is their best one, live from Coachella 2011.

I wanna ask the viewers of this blog a question though....do you believe seeing a bands full concert on Youtube or Netflix ruins the fun of seeing a band for the first time live or do you think it just makes you that much more excited?

The Hype Machine

One of the biggest problems I have on the web is finding a consistent music site that posts music that always captures my interest.  Recently I found the great hypem.com.  Hypem.com (short for 'The Hype Machine") is a blog that allows users to post their favorite songs and gets voted on to a "front page" of sorts.  From here you can easily access hundreds of the most popular songs of the week voted on by the users of the site.  If your enjoying some of the music that I posted on this blog then I suggest you check out the site.

Promising New Artists

Haven't posted in a little while guys and for that I will make it up for it by posting a couple of new bands and artists you guys should definitely check out!!

Terraplane Sun:
Terraplane Sun- Get Me Golden

Try NOT to listen to this song over and over...this unbelievably catchy song comes from Terraplane Sun's second album Ya Never Know.  This song and album show why this band is soon to be the next breakout indie band.  If you like Miiike Snow I'd suggest you check this album out.

Ella Eyre:

This beautiful song comes from Ella Eyre, a 19 year old Brit that is lighting up the charts in her home country with singles like these.  Its just a matter of time before she becomes a huge success in the states. The blues sound that comes from her voice reminds me of the amazing Amy Whinehouse, but her use of electronic beats and auto-tune remind me a lot of the surging Ellie Goulding.

James Blake and Chance the Rapper:
This is a good ole two for one for you viewers.  This James Blake and Chance the Rapper song has been blowing up both the indie blogs and rap blogs all across the web. James Blake is a producer that has made beats for the likes of Drake and RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan.  He is now adding more vocals to his tracks and I believe this is actually the first official feature he has on one of his songs.  He picked a great artist to give him his first feature.  Chance the Rapper is a 18 year old Chicago rapper that is still yet to release a debut album, but his mixtapes are making record labels water at the mouth with excitement to sign this guy.  I would compare James Blake to the great Bon Iver.  I honestly don't believe I've ever heard anyone quiet like Chance the Rapper but his fast rapping style reminds me a lot of another Chicago MC Twista.
